Eco Park Sweet Girl Mini Album

Hello! Here I am with another album. I told you, the albums will keep on coming :) This time I used papers, stickers and chipboard stickers from the super bright and sweet Eco Park Sweet Girl Collection available now at Paperlane.

I designed the album to be interesting and interactive. I wanted it to be fun, so I used many flaps, pockets and pins - you won't believe how many photos you can put inside!

There are two flaps on the front cover that also serve as a way to keep the album closed and a interesting way to do your journalling.

Inside there is a big pocket for more photos, four pages for photos and journalling, and a smaller pocket on the other cover.

And here is a closer look at two of the pages:

Prima Divine Mini Album and Layout

Hello! Today I am really happy to show you the mini album I made with the latest Prima products available at Paperlane. I used papers from the new Divine collection (and divine it is!), a Mixed Media Doll stamp, tags from the Tags Pad and wooden buttons - all such a treat and delight to my crafter's soul!

The moment I saw that pretty doll stamp, I knew it would be perfect for paper piecing and I was right. It was such fun to make the doll and decorate the tag. Once the tag was ready, I had to come up with something to hold it, so basically the album was created because of the tag :).

The mini album has four pages that hold 4x6 inch photos and two pockets for tags and more photos. I used the first pocket for a photo tag and a journalling tag and the pocket on the back cover for a bunch of other photos from the same session.

The papers are so beautiful and delicate and the colours matched my photos so nicely that I did not find it necessary to decorate the pages a lot. I kept it clean and simple:

a banner and a sticker;

and a button and ribbon here and there.

The mini album makes a perfect keepsake and a sweet gift and will be soon available at Paperlane as a class.

I also have a layout for you. I used the Canzone paper from the Divine collection - a really beautiful design, which is very easy to work with.

I only added a banner, die cuts, a brad and some tulle for a more delicate touch. And voila!

The photos in the mini album and layout were taken by Ania from the ania james photography.

I hope my projects have inspired you!

Happy crafting,

Lidiya

Castle Chipboard Album

Hello! Today I have a fun chipboard album for you. I was so happy when I got the castle shaped album as part of my Paperlane DT supplies last year because I knew it would be just perfect to collect and scrapbook some of Raya's fairy tale photos.

I used papers from We Are Memory Keepers Easter collection, some stamps, lace, flowers and ribbons.
Did you see the two sweet bunnies on the cover :)?

Here come also:

the Little Red Riding Hood

A princess ballerina

and Raya's all-time favourite Freej characters.

I used K&Company tags for journaling and slid them behind the photos.

Thanks for joining me today!

My Japan Album

Hi! I made this album last year and never got the chance to post it, so here it comes today - the album I created for the photos from our trip to Japan in November 2011 when we visited Kyoto, Nara and Tokyo.

I used papers from K&Company 12x12 pad and the back-to-back technique to create the album body. It did take some time to stick all the pages, but the result was worth it since I got a quite big and sturdy album.

I got so many photos that it was impossible to get them all inside, so I came up with the idea to dress up white envelopes and use them to keep the photos I was not able to stick on the pages. So I ended up with an envelope at the end of each city section.

I decided not to use any decoration on this album as my main aim was to focus on the photos and journalling for the places we visited rather than try to create a scrapbooking masterpiece. Mission completed :)

I hope you liked this album as I have more coming your way!

Take care.

Thank You Chipboard Album

Hello! I was going through my craft files today and came across some projects that I did not manage to post last year, so here comes the first one - a chipboard album I made for Raya's teacher Ms. Charlotte at the end of 2011/12 school year.

I used a 12x12 chipboard from which I made the pages, K&Company designer papers, Distress Stains to colour the pages, some Prima flowers, American Craft ribbons, washi tape, stickers and gems and Silhouette dies cuts.

I also created some fold out pages from the patterned paper to make space for more photos.

I used a small tag tucked behind a photo to write my message to Ms. Charlotte and thank her for being Raya's teacher.

That's all for today!

See you soon.

2-in-1 Christmas Mini Album

Hello ladies! Here is my second DT inspiration project using the papers from  Echo Park's This&That Christmas collection. My intention was to make an album using some canvas boards as front and back pages, but when I saw the KaserCraft Star Album at Paperlane, I decided to make my life easier and go with it. And I was happy with my choice because I really had fun creating this album, plus I came up with another usage of the pages, so I called this project 2-in-1 :).

The album looked something like this. Unfortunately, I could not find the exact image on the KaiserCraft website, but you will get the idea.
First I painted the sides of each star with Martha Stewart Acrylic Craft Paints and then decorated them with the papers. I used the edge distress tool by Tim Holtz to ruffle the edges, which looks as frost to me, so I really like how it turned out.

I added some Golden Stickles to the pages for a more festive look and left the pages blank waiting for the Christmas photos.

In the meantime I decided to put the pages in use as Christmas decoration:

2-in-1, I told you :).

Happy festive crafting!

Baby Alex and Big Sister Raya Beach Party

Hello! Today I have something really special to share with you. It's the beach party I organized for my sweet kids - Alex and Raya. It is already "winter" in Dubai, so there's no better place to be than at the beach.

I styled the party focusing on the colour scheme - red, blue and white; somehow I felt these are the right colours for my kids. Once I was happy with my choice of colours, I got busy with the party decoration.

I made a cute paper bunting to go with the flags on my two-tier stand, flag toppers in the same patterns and bright red tissue paper pom poms. I also used some tulle here and there for a little added charm. To match perfectly all elements of the set up I altered a jar to go with my theme (a tutorial is on the way) and painted two IKEA tin buckets to fit in. To make all props come together I used two white baskets as small tables and dressed them up with tulle bows.

The treats on the dessert table included a yummy strawberry shortcake from Sweet Lane and their signature mouth-watering fruit tarts. I particularly asked for strawberries, blackberries and cranberries to match my colour theme. I added some more sweetness to the table with the truffles which were custom-made in white with red and blue lines. And since I know Raya too well, I put some fresh strawberries in the altered jar, just in case.

For the water bottles I used printables from the CD I got with Kara's Party Ideas - The book and customized them to read "Baby Alex" and "Big Sister Raya". Luckily I also found the perfect drinks colour-wise.

Here is the party in details and below are the credits. Many thanks to Ania from The Ania James Photography who made the photos for us!

What is next? Raya's birthday is just behind the corner, so the ideas are already swirling in my mind!
